Microsoft Silverlight Sommarkollo 2010

Silverlight goes to New Zealand

I'm having the pleasure to work with a New Zealand based firm to design and develop true business applications with the Silverlight technology. The solutions are built on Microsoft .Net RIA Services and Entity Framework.

Speaking at Microsoft 'Summer School', again!

The 19th of August 2009, I was speaking at the Microsoft Silverlight 'Summer School'. My topic was about how to use Expression Blend and Behaviors, Triggers and Actions to add interactivity to the UI, writing no or minimal code. The amazing Physics Helper was demonstrated, but also how to use Behaviors in business applications with the Model-View-ViewModel architectual pattern.

Teaching Silverlight in India

Recently, I was contacted by a San Diego based firm to teach IT staff in India about how to develop Silverlight applications and make use of WCF Services and client caching using Isolated Storage.

The Silverlight and MVVM Course at Informator

Winning Global Best Cross Network Practise at MGX

The Web site and Silverlight applications I developed for Microsoft MSN Sweden for 'melodifestivalen' at MSN.SE won the Global Best Cross Network Practise Award at MGX 2009, which is a Microsoft event for worldwide sales folks, consultants and evangelists.

Silverlight guest speaker at KTH Kista April 14

Speaking about Silverlight in general and my experience with the technology for students at Royal Institute of Technology in Kista, Stockholm.

Melodifestivalen.msn.se

Working together with the MSN team at Microsoft Sweden, melodifestivalen.msn.se has been developed with extensive use of the Microsoft Silverlight technology.

This project is a good exampel of how different parts of a Web page can offer a richer user experience with Silverlight technology. Feel free to contact me about how this was developed in Silverlight or Robert Folkesson for the project in general.

Microsoft TechNet TV with Silverlight

In collaboration with the video broadcasting firm World Television, a videoplayer has been developed with the Microsoft Silverlight technology, where a library of video and PowerPoint slides are synchronized during playback.

Silverlight workshop at Øredev conference

I attended the Øredev developer conference as the tutor of the Silverlight workshop session.

Also, at the Microsoft booth I and a few other Silverlight developers where interviewed where we shared our thoughts about developing applications with Silverlight and the Expression Suite. The recorded interview is published on the Swedish Microsoft Channel 9 site.

WPF-based solution at Input Consulting

Recently I teamed up with Input Consulting to work on a WPF-based Business-of-Line Application for Stockholm Stad. The Composite Client Application Guidance (PRISM) for WPF was used, which is a pattern & practice designed to help building modular applications, now also suitable for Silverlight development.

Renderstorm improves game data visualizations

Producing 3D graphics for game developers and visualization companies, Renderstom is contributing to one of my Silverlight projects. The work is aiming at impoving data visualization for my network multiplayer game project now beeing developed in Silverlight 3.

Guest speaker at Microsoft Silverlight 'Summer school'

A full crowd joined a half day Silverlight session at the Swedish Microsoft office in Kista, where I shared my knowledge and experience with this, for most people, new development platform. The session was led by Robert Folkesson, Silverlight Evangelist at Microsoft Sweden.
